The City of Roy is proud of the band program at Roy High School. It holds a great tradition of excellence in and out of the classroom. The band has a proud history of representing the school, district and city at many local, state and national competitions - garnering numerous superior and excellent ratings.
The Weber School District and Roy HS Technology Departments have asked each teacher to start a "blog" for their classes. The band blog is up and running, here is the link: Roy HS Band Notes Check it out. We are updating weekly and would love to hear from you!!!
The Roy Band Cone is the fastest growning program in the Weber County School District. The High School program has joined the National Music Honor Society - Tri M - and is looking forward to giving back to their community through this service.
The Pride of Roy Marching Band is pleaased to announce its show music for next season - "A Musical Road Trip across the United States entitled - Not Quite Route 66.!!!." The Pride has hired Dr. Shannon Roberts to arrange the music and is excited to see and hear the results of this partnership. The marching band kick off Social is scheduled for 24 April in the Band Room, come and listen to the show and hopefully see the new uniforms!!!! All parents and students who are interested in the marching band are invited to come listen and see if this group is for you!!!
The Band, Parents and the Director, Mr. Windsor would like to thank all of the following sponsors in helping them throughout the marching season: Roto-Rooter, Dawn's Bridal, Pepsi Bottling, Wilson Flooring, Grizzly Graphics and the City of Roy.

Important Information
CONGRATS to the 2008 RHS Winterguard. They placed 2nd at State on April 5th. The show was titled "Book of Love" and was recognized as the fan favorite. Way to go guard - we are proud of you!!!!!
REGION FESTIVALS: It is that time of year for festivals. The Jazz Band just competed and received an Overall I- (Superior) for their performance. Way to go!! Royal Band will be competing at Region on April 9th @ Mtn. Crest HS Times TBA
KICK OFF SOCIAL 2008: The Kick Off Social for the 2008 Editionof the Pride of Roy Marching Band has been scheduled for 24 April 2008 @ 6:30 pm in the Band Room. This is for all students AND Parents who are interested in participating in the Marching Band.
FEES: Please get all fees taken care of ASAP!!! This money has been spent on your behalf. Contact Mr. Windsor for details or the Bookkeeper at RHS. A list has been given to her of all fees. Please bring the receipt showing payment to Mr. Windsor.
JON SCHMIDT: The concert was amazing!! We raised enough money to buy the new colorguard uniforms and pay for part of the marching band uniforms. We will have this concert again - thanks to all who supported us in this effort.
TOUR- A great success!!!!! Pictures will be coming soon. The Royal Band Concert was amazing!! The students played extremely well. They represented the School and the City with great class and professionalism!! The Marching Band was a great success marching done main street!!! The audience was dancing and singing along as the band played "Final Countdown."
MARCHING BAND NEWS: The Uniforms are ready!!!! I just received word that all the uniforms are ready. We are finalizing the final payment and hope to have the uniforms here for the Kick off Social!!!! Thanks for all your hard work. Now lets show the state of Utah what the Pride of Roy is all about!!
WINTERGUARD NEWS: The RHS Winterguard just returned from the Denver WGI Regionals earning a 14th place overall and 10th in movement!!! Way to go Guard. They are now preparing for the UWGA Circuit Finals to be held on 5 April @ West HS in Salt Lake City. Good luck Guard and we hope you "Reach for the Stars!!!"
